Janet (Jandi) Hanna, President

Jandi has been a Speech & Language Pathologist for the Region One Schools for twenty-four years.  


Raised in Goshen, her family has been in the Northwest corner for 90 years, and Jandi has lived in Falls Village for the past sixteen.   Jandi is a founding member of the FVHT.  She also is founding voice actor of the Nutmeg Junction Radio program.  She can also be found lifeguarding at the YMCA in North Canaan.

Tracy is a native of Falls Village with 40-years of experience managing agricultural and economic development programs for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Save the Children, and the International Voluntary Services. He lived and worked for 30-years in several countries in Southeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. 


Tracy has served on the Board of Habitat for Humanity for nine years, five as President.  The FVHT is fortunate to have a founding member with his experience and commitment to affordable housing.

Martha has worked in the field of tax law for over 42-years and established Miller Tax Law, LLC in Lime Rock, CT in 1993.  She has helped hundreds of local businesses, non-profits and residents with tax matters and is a valuable resource to our rural community.  


Martha is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law and is admitted to practice in the states of Connecticut and New York, and before the U.S Tax Court.

Felicia and her family have lived in Falls Village since 2005.  She is currently the Economic Development Director for the Town of Canaan (Falls Village).


Previously, Felicia was a Project Coordinator Consultant for the Northwest Hills Council of Governments and  worked for 15-years in NYC and Silicon Valley with start up biotech companies. 


Felicia has a B.S. in Public Health Education & Marketing, and has completed various Certifications in Community Economic Development.  She is a founding member of the FVHT,  a Board member of the Foundation for Community Health, and is a Falls Village Wetland Commissioner.

Dr. Charde has lived on our community for over 50-years.  He practiced pediatric at the Sharon Clinic between 1970-1982.  He and his wife raised their two sons in Lakeville. 

   
John co-founded the first HMO in Dutchess County in 1983 where he was the Medical Director or Medical Director for quality management in a number of managed care organizations in the US.


John knows first-hand the connection between housing and good healthcare.  “It has become clear that inadequate safe housing and poor nutrition are major factors in the overall haealth of people.  Housing is a critical social determinant of health”.


John has a special interest in providing senior housing that allows people to age-at-home safely and with dignity.


Dr. Charde serves on the Boards of the Foundation for Community Health, the Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Litchfield County, the Sharon Hospital, and is on the Aging In Place and Village development project steering committee.

 Allen and his wife lived in Falls Village for 28-years while they raised two sons.  


Allen served as both member and Chair of the Lee H. Kellogg School Board and of the Region One Board of Education as well as a member of the Falls Village Planning and Zoning Commission. 


Since 2006 the Cockerlines have lived on and operate Whippoorwill Farm in Salisbury.  


The Cockerlines own a home in the Falls Village center that is under renovation.

Eric was raised in Rhode Island and spent 21 years in the military.   He retired as a Major in the Army and was the Commander of various units deployed overseas.   He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business.


Eric is the new co-owner and operator of the Falls Village Saw Mill.  It is thrilling to see this town business thriving again in town.


He is married to a native Falls Villager, and they have two young children who they are raising in our town

Jason Bailer Losh grew up in rural Iowa before living in Washington D.C., New York City, Los Angeles

Jason grew up in rural Iowa and has lived in Washington D.C., New York City, Los Angeles and now Falls Village.  He and his wife thoughtfully selected Falls Village for their  "forever home" to raise their two children.

His father is a general contractor who provided Jason with hands-on experience building homes in the Midwest. 


Jason is an artist.  He is also Director of Business Development and Marketing for a large International shipping logistics company for the last 14 years.

Julia Olff is a health care professional with over 30 years’ experience in health education, health care marketing and hospital administration. She holds a BA in Public Health Administration with a minor in Spanish and an MBA in healthcare administration. Julia is also a certified health education specialist (CHES) currently working as a freelance consultant for healthcare communications, and patient advocacy organizations on range of topics focused on public health, the social determinants of health and health equity. Julia was honored in 2021 with a President’s Award by the New Jersey Society of Public Health Educators for her involvement in the public health educator community.


Julia is a peer volunteer with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and conducts senior check in calls for Jewish Family Services of NJ.  Here in Falls Village, Julia is a member of the Falls Village Equity Project, an initiative of the Falls Village Community Development Corporation. 


Julia has a personal and professional interest in fostering the health and well-being of her communities and recognizes the life changing significance of affordable and safe housing. She divides her time between Falls Village and Jersey City, NJ. Julia plans to reside in Falls Village full time in the next few years with her husband, Timothy Metzger, new puppy and two cats with the occasional visits from her blended family of five children and one grandchild.

Phillip Watkins

Phillip has worked in the nonprofit sector for 20 years.  He is currently Deputy Director of Scholarship Programs at the Open Society Foundation he designs and runs scholarship programs for individuals from repressive environments who are eager to improve their home communities but lack educational and professional opportunities that might help them.


Phillip grew up in Texas where his family had a dairy farm in a small rural community.  He and his husband were introduced to the charms of Falls Village while visiting friends.  They purchased a home and moved here in early 2017.
